personal email address / did not receive confirmation email

why do we need to get a personal email address?


Because many companies have email filters that block routine emails. Their own company may have such a filter and they do not know it.  They don't know it because emails to them have been blocked without their knowledge.


These filters are often "rented" from a software company.  


Example:

ABC financial company rents software to filter their emails from Proofpoint.  ABC financial company does not know which emails get blacked because they did not write the software--they rent it form Proofpoint. The financial professional working at ABC financial knows none of what is explained in this paragraph. He is unaware that some of his emails get blocked.


If you can only get a business email address form the professional, then they may never get the confirmation email as their company may block it. Therefore, you will not be able to confirm they received the email.


If you DID enter a personal email address (gmail, yahoo, outlook, etc) he will get the confirmation immediately.  If he does not, then read back the email address to him as you likely made a mistake typing it. If you DID make a typing mistake, then tell him he will get a confirmation email to the correct address in a few minutes and end the call.
