In a perfect world, we have exactly the right number of appointment setters to fill the open available slots in our calendar.
The available slots in our calendar are determined by the number of business experts we have available to conduct the appointments on the calendar.
When we get the exact balance between appointment setters and business experts, that is quickly ruined when somebody needs to be out. If one person is out, that means we have too many appointment setters and not enough open slots on the calendar OR we have too few appointment setters and time slots on the calendar go unfilled (which results in lost income to the company).
Why can't we maintain a perfect balance of appointment setters to business experts? Because human beings cannot be controlled and we never know when these things happen:
- Illness
- Accidents
- Electrical outage
- Internet outage
- other personal Emergencies
Everyday, I get emails telling me why people can't come to work:
- My Internet is out
- My electricity is out from the storms in my area
- I woke up and I feel sick
- My mother fell down and I have to go help her
- I had a death in the family
So we do our best to always have the correct balance between appointment setters and the number of open slots on the calendar. But sometimes, because of the above issues that we cannot control, there may be a shortage of open slots on the calendar for the number of appointment setters we have. When this happens, we do our best to get it back in balance within a few days.
Note that we cannot immediately add business experts to conduct more appointments as it takes two weeks to recruit and train a business expert. We can only add business experts when we have a long term ability to fill additional slots on the calendar every week in the future.
