How to check your headset and fix

Ways to check the voice quality of your headset

1. Test your microphone before trying to make calls. Go to https://online-voice-recorder.com/, and attempt to record yourself speaking. If the website asks for permission to use your microphone, say Yes. If you can hear yourself speaking when you play back the recording, then your microphone is good to go and you are ready to use CallHub.

If your voice does not record or sounds like you are in a tunnel, make sure that your chrome browser gives permission to use your headset microphone

2. If you have a service that allows you to make outgoing calls, you can check the voice quality of your headset. You can dial someone you know and ask them how you sound.

To make an outgoing call over your PC, you need to use a system like google voice (voocie.google.com) or skype. Callhub does not have a feature that allows you to dial individual numbers (call hub only dials the numbers in the list of advisors).

3. Use the voice recorder feature in Windows.  Make a recording and listen to yourself. The voice recorder is in the list of your other programs that you see when you press the windows key on your keyboard

If your voice sounds like it is in a tunnel, or your headset microphone is not picking up your voice, that means that your computer is picking up your voice from your webcam or other microphone and not your headset.  See this video on how to fix it.

This video also fixes the issue where you think your headset may not work but the issue is that your headset works but you have not "told" your computer to use the headset as your mic and speakers.
